WARNING SIGNS

Red Line

It is possible to be ill without necessarily feeling ill. Even so, such an illness does need to be treated.

There are warning signs which can tell us that there is something wrong with us. If you notice something like this consult your doctor within ten days.

The signs are:

Bullet  Losing weight by (7lb) 3kg or more without apparent cause.

Bullet  Feeling thirsty without apparent cause.

Bullet  A change in a mole.

Bullet  A change in your voice: husky or hoarse and persisting for longer than three weeks.

Bullet  Often getting indigestion or acid belching.

Bullet  A change in the breast or nipple.

Bullet  Feeling very tired without apparent cause.

Bullet  Blood loss when coughing or vomiting, from the stomach, from the vagina or when urinating (passing water), or from the bowels.

SERIOUS WARNING SIGNS IN CHILDREN:
GET MEDICAL ADVICE OR HELP IMMEDIATELY

Bullet  Violet spots which don't fade when pressed.

Bullet  If the child is having breathing problems: gulping, gasping for air, wheezing and is unable to speak or have a drink.

Bullet If you think that the child is in pain when breathing in.

Bullet  If the child is weak.

Bullet  If the child is drowsy or confused.

Bullet  If the child does not react when spoken to.

Bullet  If the child does not react to its surroundings.

Bullet  If the child is vomiting and has diarrhoea at the same time.

Bullet  If the child cannot sit up or cannot bend the head forward.
